Daniel 2:23

2:23 O God of my fathers, I acknowledge and glorify you,

for you have bestowed wisdom and power on me.

Now you have enabled me to understand what I ¹  requested from you.

For you have enabled me to understand the king’s dilemma.” ² 

Daniel 6:17

6:17 Then a stone was brought and placed over the opening ³  to the den. The king sealed ⁴  it with his signet ring and with those ⁵  of his nobles so that nothing could be changed with regard to Daniel.

Daniel 11:27

11:27 These two kings, their minds ⁶  filled with evil intentions, will trade ⁷  lies with one another at the same table. But it will not succeed, for there is still an end at the appointed time.

[2:23]  ¹ tn Aram “we.” Various explanations have been offered for the plural, but it is probably best understood as the editorial plural; so also with “me” later in this verse.

[2:23]  ² tn Aram “the word of the king.”

[6:17]  ³ tn Aram “mouth.”

[6:17]  ⁴ sn The purpose of the den being sealed was to prevent unauthorized tampering with the opening of the den. Any disturbance of the seal would immediately alert the officials to improper activity of this sort.

[6:17]  ⁵ tn Aram “the signet rings.”

[11:27]  ⁶ tn Heb “heart.” So also in v. 28.

[11:27]  ⁷ tn Heb “speak.”
